How to Apply For a Loan

Consumer Loan Applications

First, fill out the online application and Docusign the forms that are emailed to you.

Then, upload the following documents for all borrowers to the application portal:

  • Photo of government-issued, unexpired ID (i.e. driver’s license, state ID, passport, etc.)
  • Most recent paystub for each source of income

Your loan officer will reach out to you to complete the application process within one business day.

Real Estate Applications

Fill out the online application and Docusign the forms that are emailed to you.

Then, upload the following documents for all borrowers to the application portal:

  • Photo of government-issued, unexpired ID (i.e. driver’s license, state ID, passport, etc.)
  • Paystubs for the past 30 days
  • W2s for the last two years
  • Bank statements for the past two months

 

Please note the following may be also be required depending on your loan and income type:

  • Federal tax returns for the past two years, with all schedules (only if self-employed or have rental income)
  • Retirement bank statements for the past 2 months (if applicable)
  • Mortgage statement (if refinancing or own additional mortgaged properties)
  • Property tax bill (if refinancing or own additional properties)
  • Homeowners insurance statement (fi refinancing or own additional properties)

 

Your loan officer will reach out to you to complete the application process. If your application is accepted and you are seeking preapproval, they will provide you with the amount you are preapproved for; if you have already made an offer on a home, they will start the loan process.

Student Loan Applications

While BFCU does not offer student loans, our members have access to low-interest new loans and refinancing options through a non-profit organization, ISL Education Lending.
