Understanding your credit is an important part of your overall financial wellness. That’s why Breakwater offers one-on-one Credit Report Checkups for both members and non-members in our community.
During these appointments, our lenders can review your credit report with you, explain what your score means, and discuss factors that may be affecting your credit history. We can also provide guidance on building healthy financial habits and improving your credit over time.
Members may be eligible for a soft credit pull through the credit union. Non-members are welcome to schedule an appointment as well but should bring a copy of their credit report unless they choose to authorize a hard credit inquiry.
We also offer our “All About Credit” book, a helpful resource designed to guide individuals through understanding credit, building stronger financial habits, and working toward long-term credit improvement.
Your credit can impact more than just loan approvals. It may also affect insurance rates, housing opportunities, and other financial decisions. Regularly reviewing your credit report can also help identify errors or signs of identity theft early.
